IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings rope in Hardus Viljoen as net bowler
All eyes will be on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they look to bounce back. one of the most successful franchises in the history of the competition, CSK had a disastrous outing in IPL 2020. They struggled for consistency throughout the season and eventually failed to make it to the playoffs.
The Chennai-based outfit could not make it to the playoffs for the first time in their history. With 6 wins from 14 games, the MS Dhoni-led side finished at the seventh spot in the eight-team competition. At one stage, it looked like they would finish at the bottom of the heap. However, three consecutive wins to finish the tournament saw CSK avoid the wooden spoon.
The three-time IPL winners will be looking to make amends in IPL 2021. When it comes to bouncing back after a setback, there are very few teams that are better than CSK. Just a couple of years ago, they had won the tournament in 2018 after remaining suspended for two years. In IPL 2019 too, they did well and made it to the final where they lost to Mumbai Indians. The cricketing world is eagerly waiting to see how CSK responds after their latest setback.

Hardus Viljoen as net bowler for CSK ahead of IPL 2021
CSK are doing all they can to prepare themselves for the upcoming season of the tournament. They have already started their preparation for the competition in Chennai. Earlier this month, the likes of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and other players of the team assembled in Chennai to start the preparation for IPL 2021.
And to make sure that the practice is of the highest quality, CSK have roped in South Africa pacer Hardus Viljoen as their net bowler. In a recent video released by the franchise, Viljoen was seen bowling to the CSK batsmen. Viljoen had registered himself for this year’s IPL auction at a base price of Rs 50 lakh but his name was not called up during the auction. He was previously a part of the Punjab Kings in IPL.
