IPL 2021 : Ajay Jadeja offers his opinion on Manish Pandey
Yet again, Manish Pandey’s slow knock proved to be detrimental for his side. The right-hander scored 38 off 39 deliveries for the Hyderabad outfit against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side, and the ‘Orange Army’ went down by 6 runs.
And now, former Indian speedster Ashish Nehra has opened up on the reason why Manish Pandey has never been able to cement his place in the national side. Nehra also stated that the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant have gone ahead of Pandey.
Nehra further added that the other batsmen are able to survive and adapt to a pressure situation better than Pandey and the SRH batsman has been left behind.
“This is the reason Manish Pandey has been in and out of the Indian team. If you see how long ago, he made his debut, and players like Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav have gone way ahead of him. This is because their game is different and also, they adapt and survive in pressure situations a lot better than him. That’s why Manish Pandey has been left behind,” said Nehra in a chat with Cricbuzz.
“I think there will be a rethink now,” Ajay Jadeja offers his opinion on Manish Pandey
Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja also offered his opinion on Manish Pandey. Jadeja stated that the Sunrisers Hyderabad outfit will start looking at players who can finish the game after they are settled. The 50-year-old concluded by stating that there might be some changes in the SRH side as well.
“I think there will be a rethink now. We were talking about Williamson before. In low-scoring matches, his value is redoubled. Now they will look for solid players who can finish games after getting settled. And I have no doubt that Manish Pandey might not play in the 11 from now on. You will witness some changes in this team and that’s natural as well,” opined Jadeja on Cricbuzz.
The Sunrisers side has now lost two matches in a row. The ‘Orange Army’ will play their next IPL match on 17th April 2021 against the Mumbai Indians.
