Royal Challengers Bangalore hammered by the Kolkata Knight Riders in Virat Kohli’s 200th IPL match
However, the RCB side produced a dismal performance on the field on the occasion of Kohli’s 200th IPL match. Kohli had a below-par outing, both with the willow as well as the captain of the side. With the bat, Kohli scored just a single boundary and his stay at the crease lasted just 4 deliveries, and he was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna for just 5.
In fact, apart from Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 22, none of the other RCB batsmen could even cross the 20-run mark. The RCB willow wielders had no answers to the questions posed by the likes of Andre Russell and Varun Chakravarthy, and the KKR duo scalped 6 wickets between them with the ball in hand.
The KKR openers, Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill then took the RCB bowlers to the cleaners and put on a match-winning partnership of 82 runs for the opening wicket to seal the match for the Eoin Morgan led outfit.
Virat Kohli and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side will next be seen in action on 24th September 2021, where they will take on MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side in Sharjah. The RCB side is currently placed at 3rd place in the IPL points table.
