IPL 2020: Virender Sehwag refers to CSK team as ‘Senior Citizen’s Club’

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has been very much active on social media in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). He has launched his own show ‘Viru ki Baithak’ and keeps on taking a cheeky dig in his own ways on different teams while also praises the side playing well. Every now and then, he has trolled the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) this year and ahead of their game against Mumbai Indians (MI), Sehwag has referred to them as ‘Senior Citizen’s Club.’

It hasn’t been CSK’s season this time around as they have lost seven matches out of 10 so far and are almost out of the race for the playoffs. More than anything, the way they’ve played has been disappointing for the fans as their players have shown no intent to win matches consistently. Even CSK skipper MS Dhoni admitted after the loss in the previous game that it hasn’t been their year.

The game against MI on Friday is a do or die for the three-time champions and they will have to win all their remaining four matches to even have a slender of a chance to making it to the playoffs. However, Virender Sehwag feels it will be tough for them to beat the in-form MI side at the moment. At the same time, he also referred to the Men in Yellow as the Senior Citizen’s Club taking potshots at the aged players in the team.

“This is probably IPL’s biggest rivalry and already in this season, Chennai has beaten Mumbai. But since then, Chennai has looked like a winning team less and Senior Citizen’s Club more,” Sehwag said in his show on Instagram.

CSK had defeated MI in the first game of the season

It all had started with big smiles for CSK this season as they had defeated the defending and four-time champions MI in the first game of the season. But it has gone downhill for them since then while MI has lost only two more games out of 8, both in the Super Overs. CSK will be keen on doing a double over MI with a win on Friday.
