IPL 2020: SRH vs RR Review – Tewatia, Parag star in sensational win
This is when the purpose of the Indian Premier League serves. Two of India’s uncapped and talented players, Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag, soaked in all the pressure and then won a lost game for their the Rajasthan Royals. The duo came together at 78/5 and played some brilliant strokes to stitch an unbeaten 85-run stand. Eventually, they chased down 159 on the penultimate ball of the last over
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to bat after winning the toss and lost Jonny Bairstow early. David Warner and Manish Pandey then stitched a 73-run partnership. But the run-rate never went up courtesy some good bowling from the Royals. In an attempt to up the ante, Warner got out on 48 while Pandey scored 54 runs from 44 balls. However, the real impetus was given by Kane Williamson towards the end as SRH added 36 runs off the last 14 balls of the innings.
Turning Points
Parag-Tewatia partnership: No wonder this was the turning point of the match. The two players came together for the team when there were literally no hopes as the top order had fallen like a pack of cards. But then, they didn’t give up despite the required run-rate going up. They smartly took the attack to the opposition when it wasn’t expected to catch the SRH bowlers surprised. Tewatia was once again at his best playing 360-degree strokes while Parag’s muscle power came to the fore. Even Rashid Khan wasn’t spared as he was taken for 14 runs in the 18th over. In the end, Parag finished it up with a six to break out into a sensational dance.
