IPL 2020: SRH vs KXIP Preview – Hyderabad, Punjab search for an elusive victory
David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad and KL Rahul’s Kings XI Punjab will take on each other at the Dubai International Stadium in Match 22 of IPL 2020. Both the teams have 2 wins to their name in 5 matches. CSK defeated Punjab by 10 wickets in Abu Dhabi last Sunday. Meanwhile, MI went past the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 34 runs at Sharjah in a run-fest the same afternoon.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a mixed start to the campaign. They lost the first two matches, and then came back with two consecutive wins before being outplayed by Mumbai Indians. They are heavily reliant on their top-order and Rashid Khan. Kings XI Punjab have had a poor start to the season after the initial promise. Their middle-order batting and bowling has not been up to the mark at all.
Match Info:
Match 22- SRH vs KXIP
Venue- Dubai International Stadium, Dubai
Time – 7:30 PM IST
Head To Head:
Stat Attack:
David Warner has scored 819 runs versus KXIP, most by a batsman against KXIP in IPL.
Rashid Khan has taken 11 wickets versus KXIP, his most against any team in IPL.
Mayank Agarwal against Sandeep Sharma in IPL – 37 runs, 34 balls, 3 dismissals.
Team News:
Sunrisers Hyderabad:
The injury to star pacer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was a huge blow for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Young pacer Prithvi Raj Yarra, who represented KKR last season, replaces him. Sandeep Sharma and Siddharth Kaul are expected to make the most of this opportunity. They could also consider including a foreign pacer like Holder or Stanlake, however, that would mean either Kane or Bairstow would have to be dropped. That would further weaken their batting, which already has a brittle middle order.
Kings XI Punjab:
Kings XI Punjab batting coach Wasim Jaffer had this to say about the inclusion of Chris Gayle and Mujeeb-ur Rahman, “It should happen soon. As I said, it needs to happen sooner than later. We don’t want to bring them when every game is a must-win game. Hopefully, we will have those guys featuring soon,” he told PTI from Dubai. They are not likely to drop Glenn Maxwell and Nicholas Pooran as per reports.
