IPL 2020: Shah Rukh Khan gives a hilarious reply to a troubled KKR fan

Knight riders

Kolkata Knight Riders are experiencing a roller coaster ride in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). They were comfortably placed at the fourth position in the points table with 12 points and were deemed as the favourites to qualify for the playoffs along with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC). However, a defeat against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on October 26, Monday resulted in them losing the fourth spot to KXIP due to a low net run rate.

From scoring just 84 runs against RCB to register the lowest total scored by a team while playing the whole 20-overs to successfully defeating one of the top teams DC in their next game with a comprehensive performance by all members, the Knight Riders have seen it all in the 2020 edition of the T20 extravaganza. The KKR fans are also excited to know if their favourite team would be able to qualify for the playoffs.

A Twitter user tagged the co-owner of KKR Shah Rukh Khan to know what he thinks about the chances of his team making it to the playoffs. The user also complained that KKR is playing with the emotions of the fans. To this, the Bollywood Superstar had an appropriate reply for the fan.

The fan commented, “Kya lagta hai kolkata jitegi sir.. Iss baar!? KKR वालो क्रिकेट नहीं FANS के जस्बात के साथ खेल रही है…”

Shahrukh replied, “Arre meri socho….mere dil pe kya beet rahi hai!!!!”

KKR suffered a humble defeat against Kings XI Punjab

Batting first, the Knight Riders had a disastrous start as they lost their first three wickets in the first two overs. However, skipper Eoin Morgan and opening batsman Shubman Gill stitched an important 81-run partnership to take the team from an embarrassing score of 10/3 to 91/3 with 10 overs. The team could only post a below-par total of 149 at the loss of 9 wickets in their 20-overs. Gill was the top-scorer for his team with a knock of 57 off 45 followed by Morgan’s innings of 40 off 25 deliveries.

Chasing 150 in the 20 overs was an easy game for Punjab owing to the quickfire knock of 51 off 29 by Chris Gayle including 5 sixes and 2 fours. Gayle was ably supported by opener Mandeep who played an innings of unbeaten 66 off 56 deliveries.
