IPL 2020: Sam Curran asks Xbox for a deal after dismissing David Warner
Sam Curran, who’s currently playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), wants Xbox to send him a new gaming console. It was after he got the prized wicket of David Warner on Tuesday, October 13 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. On the same day, Curran opened the batting and scored a quick-fire 31 in the mandatory powerplay.
Curran checked if Xbox can provide him with the same deal that the Microsoft-owned gaming brand gave to Jofra Archer, who’s plying his trade for the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Archer, Curran’s teammate in the England national team, asked Xbox about the number of wickets he had to pick to get the gaming console. In reply, he was asked to pick up Warner’s wicket.
He went on dismiss Warner and RR also won the game by five wickets after Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia’s heroics at the death. After the dismissal, Xbox kept their promise and asked for the Barbados-born Archer’s delivery address.
As far as Curran was concerned, Tagging Xbox in his social media post, the all-rounder asked, “Same deal?”.

Sam Curran doing well for CSK
In the meantime, the decision to promote Curran worked as he gave CSK the required start in the powerplay with a flurry of boundaries. He set the platform for the likes of Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu, who both scored in the 40s. MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja injected momentum into the innings with some cameos and took the Super Kings to 167 in their 20 overs.
In the run-chase, Kane Williamson threatened to take the game away from the Yellow Army. But he didn’t get much support from his SRH mates. In the end, CSK won by 20 runs after a couple of brilliant overs from Shardul Thakur and Dwayne Bravo. It was also their third win of the season.
Nevertheless, they kept languishing at the bottom half of the points table despite the victory. They will next be facing the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday, October 17 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Going ahead in the tournament, CSK will need to Curran to keep firing on all cylinders.
