IPL 2020: Sachin Tendulkar’s game-changers from DC vs SRH – Qualifier 2

Delhi Capitals secured their first-ever IPL final as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second Qualifier. This now sets them up once again versus Mumbai Indians as the teams shall battle for the ultimate prize. Choosing to bat first, Delhi posted a mammoth total of 189/3 in their first innings. In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad relied heavily on Kane Williamson’s knock. However, the Orange Army eventually fell short by 17 runs. Sachin Tendulkar named his game-changers from this game in his latest YouTube upload.

Stoinis-Dhawan set a strong foundation

Delhi surprised Hyderabad by sending Marcus Stoinis at the top. The duo added 86 runs for the first wicket which set the foundation for their domination. Delhi had been struggling with the lack of runs at the top. This fresh opening partnership put a lot of pressure on the Hyderabadi bowlers. Tendulkar appreciated Stoinis’ wrist-work. Shimron Hetmyer’s innings of 35 (16) changed the momentum in Delhi’s favour once again after a lull. Sunrisers did make a comeback in the death overs as Sandeep Sharma and T Natarajan pulled back things. According to the batting legend, the opening stand was the game-changer in the first innings.

Stoinis returns with the ball

Kagiso Rabada gave a fantastic start as he castled the ever-dangerous David Warner. The Australian opener was the most important wicket of this innings. Stoinis turned up with the ball as well. He took two quick wickets initially of Priyam Garg and Manish Pandey which pushed Hyderabad on the backfoot. Tendulkar was impressed with Abdul Samad’s hitting in his quick-fire knock of 33 off 16 balls. However, Stoinis returned to dismiss Kane Williamson (67 runs off 45 balls) and almost closed the game. Rabada then cleaned the remainder of the batting line-up with his three-wicket over. Stoinis was the game-changer according to the Master Blaster.
