IPL 2020: RCB players celebrate Virat Kohli 32nd birthday in style
India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli turned 32 on Thursday. The batting superstar is currently in the UAE for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. RCB have booked their place in the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and Kohli will be definitely keen to guide the team to its first-ever IPL title.
RCB made it to the playoffs by a whisker. Along with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, they finished the league stage with seven wins. But they managed to take the final spot in the playoffs due to a better net run-rate than KKR. RCB could have finished higher in the table but four back-to-back losses dashed their chances.
The Kohli-led side will lock horns against SRH in the Eliminator. If they manage to win the game against the in-form team, they will take on the losing team of the first Qualifier which will be played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.
Virat Kohli celebrates birthday with his teammates
Virat Kohli’s IPL teammates, nonetheless, made sure that their skipper enjoyed his birthday. A video of the celebration from the team hotel in the UAE has surfaced showing the RCB skipper cutting his birthday cake and celebrating the special day with his teammates. Keeping up with the tradition, the players smeared cake all over Kohli’s face and hair while singing and cheering.

Kohli is widely regarded as the best batsman of this generation. The right-handed batsman made his debut in international cricket in 2008, just months after leading India to glory in the ICC U19 World Cup. So far, he has played 248 ODIs and has amassed 11,867 runs with the help of a staggering 43 tons, the second-most in the format.
In Tests, he has represented India in 86 matches, scoring 7240 runs with the highest of 254*. In T20I cricket, he has played 82 matches and scored 2794 runs. Kohli will don the Indian jersey again when the team travels to Australia later this month for a full-fledged tour comprising of three ODIs, three T20Is, and four Tests.
