IPL 2020: Players, teams gear up for UAE sojourn as countdown begins

IPL

From ‘Is the IPL happening this year?’ to ‘Yay! IPL 2020 will be played in UAE’, cricket fans across the world have finally breathed a sigh of huge relief. Exactly 30 days from today, the 13th edition of the world’s most popular T20 extravaganza will unfold, albeit on foreign land and without spectators. This will be only the second instance of the tournament being played completely outside India.

This year’s IPL will be different in more ways than one – a biosecure bubble, strict protocols and multiple Covid-19 tests before, during and after the tournament. Players, match officials and all those even remotely associated with the competition will be wary. Each franchise will have to take utmost care and act responsibly. From the customised masks to safety kits – franchises seem to have everything under control.

After concluding training camps with their respective teams, the Indian players have boarded the flight to the UAE. Here’s a glimpse of how travelling in the ‘Corona Era’ looks like!
