Captain MS Dhoni would have been extremely proud of his boys with this clinical victory in Sharjah. The bowlers did an excellent job, restricting the KXIP batting line-up to 178 on that wicket. Dhoni did feel that the wicket was a bit on the slower side, and he appreciated the efforts of the entire team in the post-match presentation. They are not likely to make any changes to their current team.
Kolkata Knight Riders:
The management’s decision to persist with Sunil Narine as the opener has been questioned by fans and critics alike. However, KKR chief mentor David Hussey had clearly stated in an exclusive interview before the tournament that it would be stupid to discontinue Narine as the opener, considering he has done well for them in the past. Karthik’s decision to send Tripathi after Cummins was also heavily criticized. Dinesh Karthik stated that he’ll “have a good, hard look at the batting order”.
