IPL 2020: KKR rope in Tim Seifert to replace Ali Khan
The Kolkata Knight Riders have roped in New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert in place of the injured Ali Khan for the remainder of IPL 2020. Khan, who was carrying a side strain injury from the Caribbean Premier League, failed to recover in time and has been ruled out of the tournament.
The USA pacer was earlier brought in to replace Harry Gurney, who was set to undergo shoulder surgery in September. However, Khan’s recuperation is taking longer than expected and that’s what prompted the management to name his replacement. If he had played, Khan would’ve become the first player from USA cricket to play in the cash-rich IPL. The signing was confirmed on KKR’s official Twitter handle.
He’s got a ? off 40 balls in T20 cricket!

Both Khan and Seifert were teammates in the CPL this year, having lifted the trophy as part of the Trinbago Knight Riders. Seifert had a decent outing with the bat, scoring 133 runs in nine innings while Khan picked up eight wickets.
