IPL 2020: Dwayne Bravo ruled out of the tournament, CSK CEO confirms
Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that Dwayne Bravo, who suffered a groin injury the ongoing IPL 2020, will be flying back home. The all-rounder will take no further part in the tournament. Bravo is the third CSK player after Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh to pull out of the high profile T20 league.
In an interview to ANI, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the development. “No, Bravo isn’t playing any more part this time around and the groin injury has ruled him out. He will be flying back in a day or two,” Viswanathan said.
Bravo has featured in 140 IPL matches thus far. The all-rounder has scored 1490 runs and 153 wickets. 2013 was his most successful season for the West Indian cricketer where he snapped 32 wickets. In the ongoing season, he has played in six matches. While he has not received batting opportunities, Bravo has taken six wickets in as many matches.
CSK currently find themselves at the bottom place in the IPL points table. In 10 matches, they have been victorious only three times. Their chances of making it into the playoffs are only mathematical and one more loss will rule them out of the last four for the first time in tournament’s history.
