Mishra featured in three matches for Delhi Capitals in this season. While he went wicketless in the first match against Chennai Super Kings, he took 2/35 in DC’s game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, his former franchise. Mishra has played in a total of 150 IPL matches and has claimed 160 wickets. Currently, he is 10 wickets short of the all-time leading wicket-taker in the IPL, Lasith Malinga.
Capitals do have a like-to-like replacement for Mishra in Sandeep Lamichhane, the Nepalese leg-spinner. Thus far, Lamichhane has played nine IPL matches and has 13 scalps in his account. However, adding him in the line-up will take away an overseas spot.
