IPL 2020: Check out the hotels of IPL teams in the UAE
The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to get underway from September 19, with the final to take place on November 10 across three venues namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. In the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the players along with the support staff of all the teams, are supposed to remain in bio-secure bubbles throughout the duration of the league.
As per the SOPs laid by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), each franchise had booked its own hotel or resort and will be residing at the same place till the very end of their stay in the Middle East Country. Thus, let’s take a look at the hotels the players are going to stay in for the next two months.
1. Chennai Super Kings- Taj, Dubai
The Yellow Army is staying in The Taj Hotel situated in Dubai. Located on Burj Khalifa street in downtown Dubai, the hotel offers a breathtaking view of the Burj Khalifa. Clubbed with a Jiva Spa and a Fitness Centre, the hotel is perfect for the stay of the three-time champions.
2. Royal Challengers Bangalore- Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah, Dubai
The Virat Kohli-led team is staying at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah hotel situated on the Crescent Road in Dubai. The hotel is owned by the Hilton group and is one of the premier destinations of the city. The players will be having access to a private beach along with the spa and gym.
3. Kings XI Punjab- Sofitel The Palm, Dubai
Kings XI Squad is residing in Sofitel The Palm in Dubai. The place is located in The Palm Jumeirah, East Crescent Road and is away from the buzzing city. It is the South-pacific culture-inspired hotel and much like other places is equipped with a spa and fitness centre where the players can work out on their free days.
4. Mumbai Indians- The St Regis, Abu Dhabi
Mumbai Indians is one of the only two teams staying at a resort in Abu Dhabi, St Regis Resort. The resort is located near the Nation Tower in Corniche and the place may provide a refuge to the players from all the anxiety they counter during the matches. Also, the players will be having free access to the private beach club.
5. Sunrisers Hyderabad- Anantara The Palm, Dubai
The Orange Army is residing at Anantara The Palm in Dubai and is located just off the coast of Dubai and has 400 metres of private shoreline. The Over-water villas of the hotel make it stand out among many other buildings. Also, it provides access to swimming lagoons and many other water sports including spa and gym facilities.
6. Delhi Capitals- Palace Downtown, Dubai
The Delhi based franchise is staying in the Palace Downtown Hotel in Dubai. The hotel is located at a three-min walk away from the Dubai fountain and also offers a great view of the Burj Khalifa Lake. The place makes up for an interesting and recreational stay as it has a well-furnished spa and fitness centre.
7. Rajasthan Royals- One & Only Royal Mirage, Dubai
The Steven Smith-led Rajasthan Royals is staying in the One and Only Royal Mirage at Dubai. The hotel faces the bay of Palm Island and features 0.6mi of beachfront and 65 acres of gardens. The players will be having access to a private beach and can also avail the live in beach-front accommodation.
8. Kolkata Knight Riders- The Ritz Carlton, Abu Dhabi
Apart from Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders are the only other team staying out of Dubai in a resort in IPL 2020. The resort is located in the Al Maqta Area in Abu Dhabi and covers an area of 57 acres. The whole place is equipped with many Venetian-inspired buildings forming a crest around the pool.
