Inzamam-ul-Haq hospitalized after heart-attack
Former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq was taken to the hospital in Lahore after he suffered a heart attack on Monday, September 27. The 51-year-old, in the meantime, has undergone an emergency angioplasty surgery.
The Multan-born veteran has been complaining of chest pain for the last three days and he had to be hospitalised for further treatment. His initial tests didn’t reveal a whole lot, but his last reports showed a minor heart attack after which he had to go through the surgery.
As per a report in Cricket Pakistan, Inzamam’s agent said that his condition is stable and he is currently observation of the medical staff.

Inzamam has been a prominent figure in Pakistan cricket over many years. He hogged the headlines after being a part of the country’s 1992 World Cup-winning squad, captained by Imran Khan, now the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan.
From there on, Inzamam didn’t look back and kept garnering one laurel after the other. In 120 Tests, he went on to score 8830 runs at an average of 49.60 with 25 centuries and 46 half-centuries. In ODI cricket, the right-hander scored 11,739 runs from 378 games with 10 tons and as many as 83 fifties.
Inzamam also had the privilege of playing a solitary T20I for Pakistan against England in Bristol back in 2006. He last played an international match during South Africa’s tour of Pakistan back in 2007. For as long as 15 years, Inzamam served Pakistan cricket with grace and dignity.
Inzamam also remains Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in ODI cricket. In fact, he is the only Pakistan batter to have gotten over 10,000 runs in the 50-over format.
From 2016 to 2019, he worked as the chief selector in the Pakistan Cricket Board. Inzamam also went on to become the head coach of the Afghanistan national cricket team.
