India’s three cricketing triumphs which can be turned into a movie
Recently the movie ’83 that hit the theatres enabled the audience to relive India’s maiden World Cup triumph. It is a no-brainer that the journey of the team to the illustrious trophy left the on-lookers all frenzy. On this note, let’s have a look at three cricketing triumphs of India on which a movie can be made.
2011 World Cup Victory
When the Kapil Dev-led side lifted the World Cup in 1983, it inspired many youngsters to dream big. One of the greatest of the games, Sachin Tendulkar watched the triumph and dreamt of lifting the Cup for the country. Yuvraj Singh battled cancer while delivering one of the finest tournament performances. The 2011 World Cup was thus special in many ways.
After 28 long years, India yet again tasted the glory. The World Cup-winning six of Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a special place in the hearts of cricket fans. The journey of the team and the joy it brought to the lives of the fans is worth making a movie on.
The Gabba win
Team India has presented itself as one of the strongest sides in the longest format of the game in recent years. In the year 2018, they secured their first-ever Test series victory on Australian soil. The team then further displayed its dominance in the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar series as well.
The Virat Kohli led side faced a dismaying outing in the first Test as they were wrapped up at just 36 runs. But they marked a historic comeback by winning the MCG Test, pulling a stunning draw in Sydney, and clinching victory in the Brisbane Test. It is to be noted that the side missed quite a few key players but that did not hamper their spirits as they exuded great character. India stacked firmly against all odds and conquered Australia’s fortress.
2007 T20 World Cup triumph
The inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup was dominated by a team that displayed immense promise and refused to give up. A comparatively younger side led by an inexperienced and young captain in Dhoni won the illustrious trophy amidst challenging conditions.
They beat arch-rivals Pakistan in what was a thriller final. Team India lifted the trophy in the most remarkable fashion by beating formidable teams like England, South Africa, and Australia along the way.
