India announce Test squad for New Zealand series, Rahane to lead in 1st Test
The BCCI has announced a 16-man squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand. Ajinkya Rahane shall lead the team in the first Test whereas Virat Kohli shall return to take the reigns in the second game. Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami do not feature in the Test squad and have been rested. Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat and Prasidh Krishna are fresh faces that will have an opportunity of making their Test debut for India.

India’s Test squad:
Ajinkya Rahane (Captain), KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara (vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), KS Bharat (wicket-keeper), Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, Axar Patel, Jayant Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Md. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna.
The Test series will be played after the three-match T20I series between these two nations. The first Test begins on 25th November in Kanpur. The second Test will be played in Mumbai and starts from 3rd December.
