IND vs SL: Top performers from T20I series
Hardik Pandya-led team India emerged victorious in their first major assignment this year, winning the series 2-1 to neighbours Sri Lanka. The first two matches ended in a thrilling contest as both sides took the game deep to obtain a result in their favour, however, team India dominated the series decider to clinch the title. 5. Dilshan Madushanka
The left-arm pacer emerged as the highest wicket-taker for the side in the series with five wickets in three matches. Keeping aside his performance in the final T20I where he leaked runs, he managed to pick up the vital breakthroughs in the first two matches which handed an edge to his side.
4. Umran Malik
The speedster concluded his first assignment this year as he topped the charts of the list of most wickets tin the three-match series. Malik with his usual fiery pace scalped seven wickets across the three matches with a three-wicket haul in the second T20I which eventually concluded in a losing cause.
3. Suryakumar Yadav
The number one batter in the T20 format yet again proved why he deserves to take the spot. Suryakumar blasted an unbeaten 112 runs in the series decider which proved to be the point of difference to clinch the trophy. The flamboyant right-hander amassed 170 runs in total, which included one century and a half-century in the three matches.
2. Dasun Shanaka
Like Suryakumar, Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka was the top run-getter for his side as he got 124 runs to his name in the series. In all three matches, the batter displayed his aggressive side with the bat as he guided the side to win the second T20I. As many as 11 sixes came off his bat in the three T20I matches with one half-century under his belt.
1. Axar Patel
The star all-rounder was adjudged the Player of the Series for his sensational outings across the three matches against the Islanders. He proved to be vital for the side, both with the bat and ball as he got 117 runs and three wickets in the series.
