The pitch has been encouraging for the spinners already and the road is expected to be really tough for the visitors moving forward.
Jadeja misses out on a double century
Jadeja brought up his highest Test score with an unbeaten 175 in 228 balls and got to his second century in the longer format. Virat Kohli’s guard of honour
Kohli, who is playing his 100th Test for India, was given a guard of honour by his Indian teammates while entering the ground to acknowledge the massive feat. Kohli had walked into the field when Rohit Sharma asked him to go back and invited him again with the Indian players surrounding him on both sides to pay tribute with a grand applause.
Bumrah’s fearsome spell with new ball
Bumrah was going through a brilliant spell of bowling as he swung the ball both ways and kept in the final session of the day and picked up the important wicket of experienced Angelo Mathews.
