IND vs SA: 5 players to watch out for
The Men in Blue will be hosting South Africa for a three-match T20I series followed by as many ODIs. It will be a contest to watch out for as both India and the Proteas are in great form, being backed with multiple series wins from their previous outings. While South Africa is backed with a series win over England, India defeated Australia at home just a day back.
On that note, let us have a look at the five players to watch out for in the IND vs SA T20I series-
5. Jasprit Bumrah
The pacer made his way back into the international setup during the Australia series, after recovering from an injury. He was very impressive in the second T20I, and took the crucial wickets as well, but went expensive in the third game and conceded over 50 runs during his spell, a first in his career. With the T20 World Cup approaching, the senior pro would look to regain his form.
4. Tristan Stubbs
The one player that has been talked about in recent times is Tristan Stubbs. The youngster bagged the biggest deal at the SA20 Auction and took everyone by surprise. He has been in fine touch in the shorter format of the game, and the stint at The Hundred has just added to it. He will be expected to unleash his best side in the upcoming series as well.
3. Suryakumar Yadav
The leading run-scorer in the 20-over format this year, Suryakumar Yadav has consistently provided his side with crucial knocks. Though there have been some low performances, overall, he has been very impressive with the bat. He has helped the side by getting quick runs and was one of the major reasons behind India’s win against Australia.
2. Reeza Hendricks
Proteas’ opening batter Reeza Hendricks has also been in great form, and his recent outings against England was memorable one as he notched up half-centuries in all three games. He was at his best against Ireland as well. At the Namibia Global T20 tournament too, he was at his best with the bat and performed consistently.
1. Virat Kohli
Former India skipper Virat Kohli marked his return brilliantly. After a prolonged lean patch, he unleashed the power-hitter within and has been performing well from the Asia Cup 2022. He was India’s leading run-scorer at the continental tournament, with his century being the highlight of his campaign, and also scored a half-century against Australia recently.
