IND vs NZ: Team India arrives in Hyderabad for 1st ODI against New Zealand
Following an emphatic series victory against Sri Lanka, the Indian team arrived in Hyderabad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was the first arrival, followed by his deputy Hardik Pandya. Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and former Indian skipper Virat Kohli were also seen arriving at the Hyderabad airport in a video shared by broadcasters Star Sports.
The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma decimated Sri Lanka in the series finale in Kerala to register the biggest victory (by margin of runs) in ODI cricket history. It was former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who shone brightest on the day, helping his side trounce the visitors to completer a clean sweep in the three-match series.
However, the home side will now engage in a three-match ODI series against the no.1 ranked ODI team in the world, New Zealand. The Kiwis will provide a much stiffer test to the hosts as they are heading into the series after completing a historic series victory against Pakistan on their home soil.
The Men in Blue were defeated comprehensively in their last assignment against the Kiwis, which was heavily affected by rain. Rohit Sharma’s men will be eyeing revenge when they take the field in the first ODI in Hyderabad on Wednesday, January 18. The next two matches will be played in Raipur and Indore, respectively, followed by a three match T20I series. The series will also determine India’s progress for the 50-over World Cup scheduled for later this year in the Indian subcontinent.
