50 wickets – Bishen Singh Bedi:

Bishen Singh Bedi had success against England at home and also while playing away. The left-arm spinner claimed exactly 50 wickets in Test cricket at home against the English team and is one of the four players with this feat in India-England Tests played in India. Bedi featured in ten Tests for those 50 scalps which he got with help of three 5-wicket hauls.

54 wickets – Derek Underwood:

Derek Underwood is the only England player to have picked as many as 50+ wickets in Test cricket on the Indian soil. Playing as many as 16 Tests here did help the left-arm spinner who took 54 wickets but at a decent average of 26.51 with only one 5-wicket haul. The next most number of Test wickets for England in India is 37 by John Lever across 8 Tests.

56 wickets – Anil Kumble:

64 wickets – Bhagwat Chandrasekhar:

Bhagwat Chandrasekhar leads the list of most wickets in India-England Test matches played in India. The leg-spinner from India made the English batters fall in his web as he collected a total of 64 wickets in 14 Test matches with the help of six 5-wicket hauls which includes a career-best bowling figures of 8/72.
