England’s right-arm off-break bowler Dom Bess is currently making his debut on the Indian pitch as he is featuring in the ongoing first Test of the four-match Test series against India at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The bowler is backed with massive confidence as he is coming after a stunning outing in the just-concluded two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
The 23-year-old had picked five wickets in the first innings followed by three wickets in the second innings of the first match at the Galle International Stadium. The last match of the marquee series saw Dom picking up a four-wicket haul in the second innings as England registered a comprehensive victory in the series by 2-0.
Ahead of the marquee Test between India and England, Dom Bess, who has represented England in 12 Test matches scalping a whopping 31 wickets at an economy of 2.80 and average of 33.1, was involved in a fun interaction with TalkSport, UK’s radio station where he answered a variety of questions related to his teammates.
Virat Kohli is one of the biggest names in the cricket world and taking his wicket is no less than a dream for many bowlers across the globe. Bess is no different as he also wishes to pick the Indian skipper in the upcoming series.
On being asked about his reaction after picking Kohli’s wicket, Dom answered, “I will go loony, be running off!”

Further, when asked about who is the best footballer in the England cricket team, Dom was confused between the wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes while he picked Matt Parkinson as the worst footballer among the lot in the squad.
“Either Jos Buttler or Chris Woakes but I have to pick Buttler. Once he gets into it, he can get aggressive,” Dom answered when asked about the best footballer in the team.
“There are a couple. Matt Parkinson is the worst,” Bess on the worst footballer.
During the course of interaction, Bess was also questioned on which England player is the king of the WhatsApp group. To this, the spinner added, “Currently, it’s Stokesy as he had to sort out the wifi for all of the lads. Some memes, not much cricket talk in the quarantine.”
