IND vs ENG: Clueless Rishabh Pant provides another hilarious moment
There is absolutely no dull moment on the field when Rishabh Pant is behind the stumps. No matter what the situation is, the India wicketkeeper just manages to entertain the fans with his hilarious comments and theatrics behind the stumps. Something similar was witnessed on day two of the ongoing first Test between India and England in Chennai.
With England firmly in command of the proceedings thanks to their skipper Joe Root‘s double century, the Indian players are toiling hard. The pitch has very little to offer to the bowlers and unsurprisingly, most of the Indian fielders were not looking very spirited. Pant, however, was an exception as he constantly motivated the bowlers with his comments.
And he also managed to leave the commentators in splits with a bizarre gaffe in the 151st over. The incident happened on the third ball of the over when Ollie Pope was facing Ravichandran Ashwin who bowled a full toss which the batsman top-edged. For a few seconds, Rishabh Pant gave an impression that Pope had top-edged the delivery just near him and an easy catch was there to take.
The ball, however, had flown behind him but it took him some time before he could realize it. In the meantime, the ever-excited wicketkeeper was seen running in front of the stumps in order to catch the ball only to realize that the ball was nowhere near him. By the time Rishabh Pant realised it, Rohit Sharma, who was fielding at leg slip, ran to collect the ball as Pope and Joe Root ran a double.
