IND vs ENG: Chris Jordan’s catch to dismiss Suryakumar leaves everyone stunned

The kind of form Suryakumar Yadav is in at the moment, the oppositions need something special to get rid of him and Chris Jordan did exactly that on Saturday. The right-handed batsman played his maiden innings in international cricket a couple of days ago during the fourth T20I against England and his blazing 57-run knock came to an end after a controversial catch.

Suryakumar started in the same manner in the ongoing fifth T20I too before a special effort from Chris Jordan cut his stay short at the crease. The Mumbai star came out to bat after India made a solid start to their innings. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli added 94 runs for the first wicket in just 9 overs and Suryakumar had the platform to go for the shots right from the start.

The 30-year old did not disappoint and started playing his big shots right from the word go. He hit three fours and two sixes in no time to race away to 32 off 16 balls before Jordan’s stunning effort near the boundary rope ended his knock. On the second ball of the 14th over bowled by leg-spinner Adil Rashid, Suryakumar decided to go for a big shot towards wide long-on.

He had made a good connection with the ball and at first, it looked like he would easily get a boundary. Jordan, however, had some other ideas. The England all-rounder came running from long-on and grabbed the ball with just one hand before flicking it towards his teammate Jason Roy as the momentum was taking him over the ropes. Roy completed the catch and was seen laughing as he too could not believe Jordan’s extraordinary effort.

Here is a clip of the effort from Chris Jordan:
