I’m not going to stand on air & call their names but CSK do have a couple of weak areas: Brian Lara
CSK were up against KKR in their last clash of IPL 2021 and won the game in an enthralling manner by just two wickets. When the yellow army was caught in a difficult spot, ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stepped up to produce a mega over and the match was once again in favour of CSK. CSK are also now sure of the playoffs stage with 16 points and is on the top slot.
However, former legendary cricketer Brian Lara stated that CSK have a few shortcomings in their lot. He didn’t go into the details of the topic but surely dropped a hint. It is known that skipper MS Dhoni has not been in his best form with the bat but his sharp brain has also been of great help for the yellow army of CSK.
“I think teams have got to aim at their weaknesses, and they have got some. I’m not going to stand on air and call their names out but they do have a couple of weak areas you can try to work on as an opposition. We saw them bat in the first game since the restart against Mumbai Indians. I think MI let them get off the hook after having them four down,” Lara said on the Star Sports Pre-match show.
CSK are currently on the top slot in the IPL 2021 points table
CSK beat KKR in their last game and have made sure that they reach the top four-stage. The team which is considered one of the most successful in the history of IPL, suffered big time in the 2020 season. However, they have shown this time that why they are one of the most celebrated teams in this T20 league.
At the current point in time, it is hard to call out the grey areas of CSK given their impressive form. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, and Ravindra Jadeja have been chipping with runs continuously whereas Dwayne Bravo and Deepak Chahar have chipped in with the ball. With their four games remaining, it will be a thing to see how they keep their momentum.
