I’m following the likes of Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal: Ravi Bishnoi
Lucknow Super Giants spinner Ravi Bishnoi revealed that he has been observing spin wizards Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal in order to learn new skills and grow as a bowler. He stated that he looks up to the two spinners as they have made a mark in the current era.
21-year-old Bishnoi first featured in the IPL in 2020 when he represented the Punjab Kings and caught everyone’s attention with his spin tactics. The youngster then earned his maiden international call in February 2022 in the home series against West Indies.
Bishnoi opened up about how Chahal has supported him in his journey. “I used to watch Anil Kumble and Shane Warne a lot when I was young. These days I am following the likes of Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal because they have been very successful in modern-day cricket and I am trying to learn from them,” Bishnoi told Sportstak.
“Chahal has been very supportive and has guided me a lot. Chahal always remains calm and he has an idea of which balls to bowl during different situations. He is mentally very strong,” he added while praising Chahal.
Will give my best in the T20 World Cup if given a chance: Ravi Bishnoi
Bishnoi was drafted by the Lucknow Super Giants before the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 4 crore and he is playing under the leadership of KL Rahul. He said that he aims to achieve laurels for his team in the cash-rich event this year and is focused on making a mark.
“I haven’t really thought much about making it to the T20 World Cup squad. If I get the chance, then I would surely want to grab it with both hands. But presently, my focus is on the IPL and I don’t think too far ahead. If I get a chance, I will give my best in the T20 World Cup. It has been a while since we won an ICC trophy,” Bishnoi said.
Bishnoi also praised his LSG skipper Rahul for being very understanding and supportive. He played under Rahul’s captaincy earlier as well, when the two represented PBKS.
