Indian skipper Virat Kohli has regained the top spot in the ICC Test rankings, overtaking Australia’s Steve Smith. David Warner too is a big gainer in the charts after his memorable triple-century against Pakistan in Adelaide. In the bowling rankings, Mohammed Shami has broken into the top-10 after some sensational performances during India’s home summer.

Kohli regains the top spot after three months with Steve Smith having an average series against Pakistan. Kohli, on the other hand, scored a brilliant century in India’s maiden day-night Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata. With a series against New Zealand on the horizon, Smith though will soon have another chance to reclaim the top spot.

Three Indian batsmen feature in the top-ten of the rankings. Apart from Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara occupies the 4th spot with Ajinkya Rahane at No.7. Warner has made a big leap of 12 positions to break into the top-5 of the rankings. England skipper Joe Root also breaks into the top-10 after his double-century against New Zealand. Marnus Labuschagne continues his meteoric rise in international cricket by gaining six spots to feature at No.8.

Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada maintain their stranglehold in the top-2 positions of the bowling rankings. Jason Holder gains a spot to feature at No.3, Neil Wagner despite his heroics against England loses a spot to sit at No.4. Indian pair Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami occupy the 9th and 10th spot respectively.

In the rankings for all-rounders, Jason Holder continues to occupy the top spot. Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes round off the top-3 on the charts. In the team rankings, India continues its dominance on top. New Zealand follow India in the second spot with England occupying third place in the charts.
