ICC T20I Rankings: Malan, Finch make rapid strides; Pakistan stay on top

After the end of three massive high-profile series, there have been some big movements in the ICC T20I rankings. Dawid Malan, Aaron Finch, Mitchell Santner and Deepak Chahar have been some of the biggest gainers, taking giant leaps in the rankings.

Australian captain Aaron Finch is closing down on his Pakistan counterpart Babar Azam at the top of the batsmen’s rankings. He scored 106 runs in three matches against Pakistan, seeing him jump up 2 spots in the rankings. Azam though himself had a terrific series, scoring 115 runs, seeing him maintain his stranglehold at the top of the charts.

Dawid Malan, who scored England’s fastest ever T20I ton, also re-entered the charts with a bang. He scored 208 runs in 4 matches, placing him on the third spot in the charts. KL Rahul after a decent showing against Bangladesh, also jumped up one spot to number 8. England captain Eoin Morgan also made massive gains, sitting on the ninth spot after a jump of 10 positions.

In the bowlers’ rankings, Rashid Khan continues to occupy the top spot and will have a chance to extend his lead as Afghanistan will soon face off against West Indies. Mitchell Santner after an excellent series against England leapt up three positions to number 2. Adam Zampa also jumped up two spots to number 4, as all the top five positions are occupied by the spinners. Deepak Chahar after registering best-ever figures in T20Is makes a jump of 88 slots to number 42.

Mohammad Nabi becomes the top-ranked all-rounder followed by Glenn Maxwell. In the team rankings, Pakistan sit at the top despite a series defeat against Australia. The Australians though have cut the lead down to a mere 1 point. England, South Africa and India occupy the third, fourth and fifth spot respectively.
