ICC pays heartfelt tribute to MS Dhoni on retirement anniversary
Celebrating his illustrious career, the International Cricket Council (ICC) paid a heartfelt tribute to former India skipper MS Dhoni on August 15 (Monday). To note, the World Cup-winning skipper decided to drop the curtains on his international career on this very date in 2020.
In a video posted by ICC on their official website, the 3:11 seconds clip shows some of the memorable moments of Dhoni in the international arena. It also includes moments of India’s victory in the ICC events, including 2007, 2011 World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy.

Talking about Dhoni’s international career, the veteran is the only captain to win all the ICC trophies in entire cricket history. A young Dhoni led India to its first T20 World Cup in 2007. The Men in Blue were also crowned as the Asia Cup champions in 2010 and 2016 under his leadership.
However, his biggest achievement came in 2011 when the home team won the 50-over World Cup after beating Sri Lanka in the final match. Team India also won the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy after defeating the home team England in a thrilling final match.
Dhoni was also regarded as one of the best finishers in the international arena and won several matches for his team single-handedly. Talking about his runs at the highest level, Dhoni amassed 17,266 runs, including all three formats of the game and stroked 15 centuries, and played at an excellent average of 44.96.
Not only in the international arena, but Dhoni has also created his legacy in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as his franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has won the competition four times, with Dhoni playing a very crucial role with both bat and his captaincy. The right-handed batter will be seen in action during IPL 2023.
