ICC ODI Rankings for bowlers: Chris Woakes jumps to 4th place
England bowler Chris Woakes has finished the ODI series against Australia as the No.4 bowler in the ICC ODI Rankings. This is his career-best ranking in ODI cricket so far. Woakes is also the second-best all-rounder in ODIs now, just 20 points behind the top-ranked Mohammad Nabi. He finished with 89 runs in the three-match series.
Meanwhile, England opener Jonny Bairstow shrugged off his rustiness to enter the Top 10 of the batsmen’s rankings. Barring the unfortunate duck in the 2nd ODI, Bairstow shone with a fifty in the first and a smashing hundred in the final ODI. His Sunrisers Hyderabad teammates in the UAE would be happy to see the batsman back in form.

India batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma continue to dominate the rankings for batsmen, firmly occupying the top two spots. However, the biggest disappointment in the England-Australia series came from David Warner, who had a horrendous time against Jofra Archer. The Australian southpaw slipped from sixth to eighth place by the end of the series.
On the other hand, Woakes who has made rapid strides with the ball is now only 26 points shy of Mujeeb Ur Rehman at third position. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood also jumped seven places to be ranked eighth but it was Pat Cummins who moved down a couple of places to sixth. Archer and Mitchell Starc jointly sit at the 10th place. New Zealand pacer Trent Boult and Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah remain unmoved from their top two places.
