ICC inducts Jacques Kallis, Zaheer Abbas and Lisa Sthalekar into Hall of fame

South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis, Pakistan’s legendary batsman Zaheer Abbas and Australia’s former captain Lisa Sthalekar have been inducted into ICC’s Hall of fame. Cricket’s governing body declared the decision on Sunday, 23rd August. These three legends had a wonderful cricketing career and serve as an inspiration for the generations to come.

Jacques Kallis

Widely recognised as one of the greatest cricketers to have played the game, Kallis boasts an unbelievable all-round record. His 13,289 Test runs came at an average of 55.37 while scoring 45 Test centuries. In ODIs, he racked up 11,579 runs. He also claimed 292 and 273 wickets in Tests and ODIs respectively. Kallis played in a handful of T20Is as well before retiring in 2014.

Zaheer Abbas

Abbas remains one of the most celebrated Pakistani batsmen from the past era. In 78 Tests, he 5,062 runs with 12 Test centuries. He was incredibly prolific in first-class cricket. Including his county cricket records for Gloucestershire, Abbas struck 108 first-class centuries while adding up 34843 runs. He represented Pakistan from 1969 to 1985.

Lisa Sthalekar

Pune-born Australian women’s cricketer, Lisa Sthalekar remains one of the legends of the game. The all-rounder has played in eight Test matches for Australia. She also represented the nation in 125 ODIs and 54 T20I matches. She scored 2728 runs and snared 146 wickets in ODIs while added 769 runs and 60 wickets in the shortest format of the game. She played international cricket from 2001 to 2013.
