ICC comes up with amusing caption for Trent Boult’s batting
New Zealand started their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign with a big and crucial win against tournament hosts and defending champions Australia. Last edition’s runners-up were clinical in the clash with their neighbours as they registered a dominating 89-run win.
Devon Conway smashed unbeaten 92 runs to help Kiwis score 200 runs while batting first in the Super 12 Group 1 opening fixture and then their bowlers put up impressive spells to bowl Australia out for just 111 runs.
The opening win has guided the Black Caps to the top of the Group 1 table with a healthy net run rate of 4.450 as they shift their focus to the next challenge in the form of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, their star left-arm pacer Trent Boult was spotted batting in the nets ahead of their next clash on October 26. International Cricket Council (ICC) posted a video of Boult batting in the nets on their Instagram account with some funny captions.
ICC compared Boult’s first shot with Indian captain Rohit Sharma with the caption, “Oh Rohit Sharma!” and continued to caption his other shots.
