I want to discuss the experience of playing in South Africa with Virat Kohli: Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh Iyer was picked in the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa. And, ahead of the ODI series against the Proteas, Iyer revealed that he wants to discuss about playing in South Africa with the legendary Virat Kohli.

Iyer also added that he would like to learn how the pitches behave from Kohli, and he is looking forward to learn from all the players in the Indian cricket team.

“We have players in our team who have played a lot of cricket in South Africa, be it Tests or limited overs. I want to discuss the conditions and experience of playing in South Africa with Virat bhai. What the conditions are like, how the pitches behave, and of course his personal experience. It will help me to acclimatize to the conditions quickly. I am looking forward to learning from all the players in the team,” said Venkatesh Iyer in a chat with The Times of India.

I am excited to play under KL Rahul: Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh Iyer also said that India’s ODI skipper for the series, KL Rahul is a good leader. Adding that he is excited to play under Rahul, Iyer concluded by stating that India will win the series with Rahul at the helm of affairs.

“KL Rahul is a good leader. I won my debut series under Rohit bhai. I am really excited to play under KL. He is a different kind of captain and I look forward to learning a lot on this tour. I am sure KL will take us to a series win,” concluded Venkatesh Iyer.

The ODI series between South Africa and India will commence on 19th January 2022.
