I keep learning from Jos Buttler: Yashasvi Jaiswal
Youngster Yashasvi Jasiwal was in tremendous form in the recently concluded domestic season and has carried the same in the ongoing IPL 2023 as well. He has smashed 125 runs in three matches so far and most importantly, has played a perfect second fiddle to Jos Buttler.
He has managed to accelerate whenever the situation has demanded the same and mostly, managed to give Rajasthan Royals a terrific start, which has eventually released a lot of pressure off the England international.
Speaking about how his experience has been at the top of the order, Jaiswal revealed that he has learnt a lot from the T20 World Cup-winning captain and also mentioned that the flamboyant batter has helped improve his game as a cricketer.
“In the powerplay, as Jos (Buttler) bhai always says, we have to have good intent and cricketing shots. I just try and follow that. I keep learning from him, different shots and (having) different mindsets which has really helped me to improve my game as a player,” the 21-year-old was quoted as saying by India Today.
The opener also stated that Royals have the best of team environments as everyone is aware of their roles. He also mentioned that the players and the support staff back each other as they are trying to achieve a common goal, which is to win their second IPL trophy in history.
“The best thing was the environment we had. Everyone was aware of their roles and was trying to follow that. We kept backing and supporting each other and giving it our all to achieve one goal. We are trying to the same this year and try our best (to make the final),” the youngster added.
Notably, in their next match, Rajasthan will be taking on Chennai Super Kings on April 12 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. They have managed to win two of their last three matches and are currently second on the IPL Points Table while the MS Dhoni-led side is fifth on the table with the same number of points in the same number of games.
