I am excited about my reunion with a legend like Dravid: Krishnappa Gowtham

India is all set to face Sri Lanka in six limited-overs games that will see the light of the day from July 18 in the island nation. It is a known fact that a relatively younger squad is out on the duty for this assignment as the mainstream squad is busy on the UK tour. In the same light, six uncapped players got their names announced on the tour, and off-spinning all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham is one of them.

Gowtham added that he is quite excited about his maiden India tour and also equally thrilled to be back under the guidance of former legendary batsman Rahul Dravid. Dravid is out as a head coach with the India squad that will be stepping up in the Lanka series and the great man has been credited time and again for his efforts in shaping the young talents of the nation.

Karnataka all-rounder Gowtham was roped in as the net bowler in India’s home series against England earlier this year and now is now excited to shine on his maiden tour. He has had the chance of working with Dravid in India A setup and at the NCA which is headed by Dravid only. Gowtham added that Dravid is open to all discussions and has solutions for everything.

Rahul Dravid sir is open to everything: Krishnappa Gowtham

Rahul sir (Dravid) was my coach from India A. I’m excited to play with him again. During my India A days, whenever I had doubts, I used to approach him and ask him anything. Rahul sir is open to Everything. He has solutions for everything. Not just India A, I’ve also spent a lot of time in the NCA with him. He’s just a phone call away to help.

“I am excited about my reunion with a legend like him (Dravid). It is a blessing in disguise for me that he is the coach and now I ask him about my trip to India. I will ask him what a player should do to play for a long time and play big games. He is just spontaneous with everything,” said Gowtham during his interview with Times of India.
