Highest strike rate in an ODI innings
Several batters have a knack for scoring at a brisk pace or we can say that they do not need much time before starting to smash the cricket ball. On that note, here is a look at three batters who played with the highest strike rate in ODI cricket. To note, all these players in this list are the Kiwi batters.
3. Nathan McCullum vs Sri Lanka in 2013 (355.55)
Nathan McCullum went berserk against Sri Lanka in an ODI match. The right-handed batter smashed 32 runs in just nine balls at a strike rate of 355.55. McCullum also smashed three fours and the same number of sixes with New Zealand winning the contest very easily. Tom Latham was adjudged player of the match for his excellent knock of 86 runs with the bat.
2. James Neesham vs Sri Lanka in 2019 (361.53)
The second Kiwi on the list is James Neesham. The left-handed batter stroked 47 runs in just 13 deliveries with a strike rate of 361.53. Neesham smashed six sixes in his innings as New Zealand went on to score 370+ runs in the match. The home side Sri Lanka went on to give a tough competition to New Zealand but eventually went on to lose the match by 45 runs.
1. James Franklin vs Canada in 2011 (387.50)
New Zealand all-rounder James Franklin sits top of this list after Smashing 31 runs in just eight balls against Canada. He played with a strike rate of 387.50 and stroked two fours and three sixes in that innings. Veteran batter Brendon McCullum scored a century in that match as the Blackcaps went on to score 300 plus runs in the match and went on to win the contest by a total of 97 runs.
