The ICC T20 World Cup has witnessed many individual and collective performances in the last seven editions ever since its inception in 2007. The prestigious tournament has seen plenty of whirlwind batting performances that have enthralled one and all.
The first six overs are what the batters look to take advantage of with the field restrictions in place. This is also an important part of the process in the T20 World Cup as well.

3. 89/3 England vs South Africa, 2016
England and South Africa faced off in a high-scoring Super 10 encounter in a T20 World Cup 2016 clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Proteas had posted a mammoth 229/4 on the board. In reply, England did get off to a brisk start, but lost their top-order in the process. Despite that they managed 89/3 at the end of the Powerplay. The Three Lions successfully went on to chase down the total in the final over by two wickets courtesy of a blistering 44-ball 83 from Joe Root.
2. 90/3 New Zealand vs Scotland, 2009
New Zealand faced Scotland in the ICC T20 World Cup 2009 group encounter at The Oval. It happened to be a rain-truncated contest, which was reduced to seven over a side. Batting first the Scottish team posted a stiff total of 89/4 on the board as Kyle Coetzer top-scored with a quickfire 15-ball 33. In reply, the Kiwis chased the target with ease with an over to spare i.e. it took them exactly six overs to score those 90 runs with the loss of three wickets.

The Netherlands occupy the pole position in this category and they achieved this feat during their ICC T20 World Cup 2014 group encounter against Ireland at Sylhet. Batting first the Irish team posted a stiff total 189/4 on the board courtesy of a quickfire 38-ball 57 from Andrew Poynter. In reply, the Dutch comfortably chased down this target with more than six overs to spare riding on a whirlwind knock of 63 runs from 23 deliveries by Stephan Myburgh at an outstanding strike rate of 273.91.It was indeed an easy chase for the Netherlands as they posted 91 runs just for the loss of a wicket in the Powerplay overs.
