However, there have been a few batters who have racked massive runs for their side in these positions. Praveen Kumar – 54*
Praveen Kumar, who is famously known for his swing deliveries with the ball, on one occasion took the onus of hitting big with the bat. Praveen scored an unbeaten 54 runs against Australia in Guwahati back in 2009. The match ended with Australia emerging victorious as the Indian batting unit could only manage to get a total of 170 runs on the score board.
Jai Prakash Yadav – 69
In a triangular series against New Zealand in 2005, Jai Prakash Yadav amassed 69 runs coming from the lower order. It was only of those matches where in the top and the middle order collapsed and Jai Prakash along with Irfan Pathan propelled the side to score a respectable total of 216 runs in the 50 overs. However, the score was not enough for the bowling unit to defend as the side eventually bowed down to the Kiwis.
