Heartbroken Neesham has a sad advice for kids
New Zealand were left with their dreams shattered, unable to lift the World Cup trophy despite not losing the final. The match against England was first tied in the full quota of the 100 overs played. A super over also couldn’t separate the two sides, as England lifted the World Cup on the virtue of hitting more boundaries.
All-rounder Jimmy Neesham who tried his level best during the match but could not get New Zealand over the line was heartbroken after the contest. He took to Twitter and sent out a series of anguished tweets, which is sure to melt even the coldest of hearts.
First congratulating England, he wrote:
That hurts. Hopefully there’s a day or two over the next decade where I don’t think about that last half hour. Congratulations @ECB_cricket , well deserved.

He then thanked the New Zealand supporters who cheered their hearts out for the team:
Thank you to all the supporters that came out today. We could hear you the whole way. Sorry we couldn’t deliver what you so badly wanted.

Finally, in a tweet which expressed the level of torment which he was going through internally, he advised kids all around the globe to not take up sports:
Kids, don’t take up sport. Take up baking or something. Die at 60 really fat and happy.

New Zealand were extremely unlucky to not lift the trophy despite their heroics. The grief of not winning the World Cup will certainly take a lot of time for many members of the squad to recover from. This series of tweets by Neesham proves it.
