Harmanpreet Kaur, Shikha Pandey share pictures donning India’s Test jersey
India’s men and women cricket teams will fly to England on June 2 for their respective assignments. While the Virat Kohli-led side will play six Test matches, including the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand, the women’s team will travel the UK for a full-fledged tour. The schedule comprises one Test, three ODIs and as many T20Is. Ahead of the series, Harmanpreet Kaur and Shikha Pandey shared pictures with India’s new Test jersey.
For the unversed, Indian women team last played a Test match way back in November 2014 against South Africa. Hence, the players are delighted to don the white jersey for the national team. The skipper of India women’s T20I team, Harmanpreet Kaur, took to Instagram and shared a picture flaunting Team India’s new kit. She will be sporting the jersey with the number 7 on the back.

The India women team players are quite evidently excited to play red-ball cricket, and the Three Lions must beware of them. The one-off Test match will get underway on June 16 at the County Ground in Bristol. Notably, Mithali Raj will lead the Indian team in Test and ODIs, while Harmanpreet Kaur will handle the reins of the T20I side.
Meanwhile, the Indian women’s squad will undergo tough quarantine in Southampton upon their arrival in England. It is reported that the women’s team will be putting up at the same hotel, which is adjacent to the County Ground in Bristol, to ensure a safe bio-secure zone for the squad.
Speaking of the Indian men’s team, they are gearing up for the much-awaited WTC final against New Zealand, which gets underway on June 18 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Following the summit clash, Virat Kohli and Co. will meet hosts England in a five-match Test series.
