Harmanpreet Kaur and Mithali Raj clear air around claims over BCCI’s gender bias
It is a known fact that the Indian contingent is all set to fly to the UK for the finale of WTC and the subsequent England series. India women’s team will also fly to the same nation for their one-off Test match with England. However, it was stated that BCCI has arranged charter flights for the men’s team and asked the women’s side to take up the commercial one. In the latest turn of events, India’s T20I skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has cleared the air on the same issue.
Kaur made it quite clear with he tweet that BCCI arranged a charter flight for both men’s and women’s team. However, the final decision was taken into consideration with distance and individual convenience. BCCI came under massive heat after things came on social media about how preferential behaviour is imparted towards the male cricketers.
Harmanpreet Kaur takes a stand for BCCI
The BCCI has organised Charter flights to ferry both men and women players to Mumbai before we leave for the UK. Considering the distance and individual convenience players have made their own choice.

It was also reported that the Indian board has arranged all the COVID-19 testing facilities for the men’s team at their doorsteps. On the other hand, they have asked their women counterparts to get the testing done on their own. However, Mithali Raj even cleared this issue as well. She added that the women’s team is getting regular RT PCR tests at home.
Traveling is a challenge in the pandemic but it is reassuring to see elaborate measures by BCCI for our health and safety. A charter ✈️ to Mumbai and UK and regular RT-PCR Tests at home. #LetsDoThis

Both the teams are set to take flights for the UK from Mumbai and will undergo a quarantine period followed by several rounds of COVID-19 testing. India’s men team is all set to arrive in Mumbai on 26 May and will take up an eight-day quarantine period before flying to England.
BCCI have made their stand very clear this time on COVID-19 protocols. Any player who tests positive while arriving in Mumbai will be out of contention and there would no time for him to make a comeback. India will first play the final of the WTC against New Zealand and will then locks horns with England for a five-match Test series.
