Hardik Pandya’s bromance with MS Dhoni sends fans into frenzy
Ahead of India’s T20I series opener against the Kiwis at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, mercurial all-rounder and stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya met former India skipper MS Dhoni in his hometown. Pandya shared an intriguing picture with the former Indian skipper via his social media handles, sending fans into a frenzy.
Hardik Pandya, who will be leading the Men in Blue in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand, shares a close bond with World Cup-winning skipper MS Dhoni. Adding to their bromance, Pandya shared a pic with Dhoni while posing on a bike in the iconic ‘Sholay’ style.
While the location of the pic is uncertain at the moment, it is likely from Dhoni’s house, where he has a wide collection of two-wheelers. Pandya, shared the picture with a caption, reading, “Sholay 2 coming soon.” His pic with the former Indian skipper has sent fans into a frenzy, with the post garnering more than eight lakh likes within an hour.
Following a whitewash of the Blackcaps in the ODI series, which saw India claim the no.1 position in the ODI rankings, they will take on the Kiwis in a three-match T20I series, commencing on January 27 in Ranchi. Hardik Pandya will be leading the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma, who has been rested alongside Virat Kohli for the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy commencing next month.
The Gujarat Titans skipper is being perceived as the successor of Rohit Sharma, especially in the shortest format of the game as India moves its attention to the 50-over World Cup scheduled later this year. Pandya is likely to lead the Indian team in next year’s T20 World cup with several senior cricketers are expected to likely make way for a crop of young players in the side.
