Harbhajan Singh and other cricketers come out in support of Arshdeep Singh
Pakistan defeated India in a heart-wrenching thriller on Sunday (September 4) in the ongoing Asia Cup. They chased down 182 with one ball to spare and five wickets in hand. Arshdeep Singh bowled an excellent last over despite having only seven runs to defend but he couldn’t stop Iftikhar Ahmed from scoring the winning runs. However, he is trending on social media for the wrong reasons, unfortunately.
He dropped Asif Ali’s catch off Ravi Bishnoi in the 18th over when the game was in absolute balance. The batter was yet to open his account then and ended up scoring 16 off 8 deliveries in the dying stages to clinch a thriller for Pakistan. Expectedly, the Indian fans attacked Arshdeep on social media for his mistake and started abusing him,
However, the left-arm pacer has found support from former cricketers including Harbhajan Singh who has called out the fans for abusing the cricketer. He pointed out that no cricketer drops the catch on purpose and also lauded Arshdeep and the Indian team for the performance they put in against Pakistan.
