Covid-19 continues to wreak havoc in the Big Bash League (BBL). The skipper of the Melbourne Stars outfit, Glenn Maxwell has now tested positive for Covid-19 in an antigen test that was conducted.

The Stars’ camp has been ravaged by Covid-19 with a number of their first-choice players getting infected. And, the Stars had to take the help of local clubs to fill in players in their encounter against the Melbourne Renegades side.

However, the likes of Adam Zampa, Nathan Coulter Nile, and Marcus Stoinis will be available for the Stars’ next match against the Adelaide Strikers, as their mandatory 7-day isolation period ended.
I have never felt more vulnerable in my life: Hilton Cartwright

Hilton Cartwright from the Melbourne Stars camp said that he feels extremely vulnerable and Covid-19 has affected his mental state. Cartwright added that he and his wife have been locked up in his room, and are not even confident to catch the lift, as they feel someone in the lift might have contracted Covid-19.

“I’ve never felt more vulnerable to a virus in my entire life and I never realised how much it was going to affect my mental state. I’ve had form slumps and this ranks right up there with how I actually feel about going about my business day-to-day.

Myself and my wife have basically been locked up in our room, not sure if we’re capable of catching the lift in case someone in there might have caught (COVID-19),” said Hilton Cartwright as quoted by Cricket Australia.

Hilton Cartwright also added that the virus is now playing constantly on his mind, and concluded by stating that the players will have to endure the virus and perform in the Big Bash League (BBL).

“Constantly, it’s on your mind and then you’ve got to walk out there and perform one of the biggest pressure stages in the world,” concluded Cartwright.
