‘Glamorous’ – Bumrah, MI teammates describe Hardik Pandya in a word

Hardik

The 2020 IPL is finally over and the Mumbai Indians walked away with all the glory and limelight. The classy franchise that has lifted the title five times has some equally classy players too. All-rounder Hardik Pandya is the first name that pops up while talking about class and glamour even off the field. His style statement and lifestyle speaks a lot about his luxurious taste and the fact is no longer hidden by his MI teammates.

In a recent video uploaded by Mumbai Indians on their official Twitter page, players and coaching staff were asked to describe Hardik in one word. He is a likeable character, and everyone had something good to say for him. Starting with ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who described him as ‘glamorous’ with a smirk and also added, “ You tell him that I said glamorous.”

Jayawardene labelled Hardik as a ‘Character’

Moving on to MI’s head coach Mahela Jayawardene, the former Sri Lankan captain called him a ‘character,’ while Shane Bond feels like Hardik is already a ‘Legend.’ Zaheer Khan also stepped up with his thoughts on Pandya and chose the word ‘Energy’ to describe him. Energy describes the splendid all-rounder perfectly in terms of the level of power he brings on the field. Coming in to bat lower down the order, he does his job on point on most occasions.

27-year-old Hardik had a great outing in IPL this season as he turned out to be an integral member of the winning squad. Though he couldn’t contribute with the ball this time, his bat did all the talking. With his big hits, he often accelerated Mumbai’s end game like fire. He gathered 281 runs in his bag in 13 innings and maintained a brilliant strike rate of 178.98. Pandya will be seen next in action Down Under against Australia in the limited-overs series. He missed out being a part of the Test squad as his back injury currently doesn’t allow him to bowl.
