Ganguly in home quarantine after brother Snehasish tests positive
Former India captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has gone into home quarantine after his brother Snehasish tested Covid-19 positive. Cricket Association of Bengal chief Avishek Dalmiya has also been forced to quarantine himself.
In a statement issued by the CAB, Dalmiya gave a health update on Snehasish.
“These are tough times. He has admitted himself yesterday at a city hospital. Other than having mild temperature, he is alright at the moment. Wish him a speedy recovery.”
“Yes, I would be undergoing home quarantine for the next few days as per required protocol,” he said.
“The CAB had not opened after Chandan Das, who works in the civil engineering department on a temporary basis, tested positive for COVID-19 on July 4. We will keep it closed indefinitely till further notice,” he said.
All of CAB’s meetings took place virtually but Dalmiya confirmed he and Snehasish visited the premises last week. The Kolkata police officials had visited to discuss quarantine facilities at a few galleries of Eden Gardens. On the other hand, the younger Ganguly was working out of an office near his residence.
Four members of Snehasish’s family, including his wife, parents-in-law and domestic help had tested positive on June 20. Since then, the family had moved to their ancestral house in Behala, where the former India cricketer resides.
