Five batsmen with most half-centuries in ODIs
The world of cricket has always been known for making great records too often. While chasing a score or putting up a target on board, the importance of centuries and half-centuries turns manifold. If a player has scored significant runs for his team, not only it adds in his personal records, but the team also gets going well.
In the same light, there have been a lot of legendary players that have a bag full of centuries and half-centuries to their name. Let’s look at players with most ODI half-centuries.
5. Inzamam-ul-Haq (83)
The Pakistan star Inzamam-ul-Haq is also at the same pedestal as Rahul Dravid. He also has 83 half-centuries to his credit in the ODI format, with an average a little higher than Dravid i.e. 39.52. In 378 ODIs that he was part of, he has scored 11,739 runs with his top score being an unbeaten knock of 137. He also led Pakistan and the team won a lot of matches under his leadership.
4. Rahul Dravid (83)
Rahul Dravid has always been known as the wall of the Indian cricket team. He was there with his bat with all the support when the team was caught in a tight spot. His name is listed among some of the greatest batsmen of the country. He has 83 half-centuries to his credit in the ODI format. Dravid displayed his class for the nation while carrying an average of 39.16 and scored 12 tons too in the due course.
3. Jacques Kallis (86)
The opening batsman and mainstay of the South African team for years, Jacques Kallis is remembered as one legendary name. In 328 ODIs he played for the Proteas team, he was able to cross the 50-run mark a whopping 86 times. He was considered as the most reliable and consistent player to take his team over the line. With an average of 42.03, Kallis has 17 centuries to his name in his illustrious career with his national side.
2. Kumar Sangakkara (93)
Just below Sachin Tendulkar, the second one in line is one of the strongest pillars of the Lankan cricket. During his glorious career spanning over 15 years, Kumar Sangakkara scored 93 half-centuries in ODI format. He maintained an average of 41.98 in the game which is exceptional. In 404 ODI matches he played for Sri Lanka, he also scored 25 centuries. He shall always remain one strong name in the history of Sri Lankan cricket.

It will not be an exaggeration to adjudge Sachin Tendulkar as one of the most complete batsmen to play cricket. During his international reign, he got hold of several records, and many of them are still untouched. A few of his records seem unlikely to be broken anytime soon by batsmen. One such record is of his half-centuries. Popularly known as the God of cricket, Tendulkar has 96 half-centuries to his name in the ODI format of the game.
